We have a contract with the United States Department of State to support a portion of their IT needs. We have been given a new task to find a permanent full-time Remedy ARS administrator. The part of the State Department we support will be merging two Remedy version 6 installations, one back-ended by MS SQL Server and the other by Oracle 9i. The combined system will be Remedy version 7 with an Oracle 10g data store. Responsibility for the conversion has been contracted to another firm, but we have been asked to provide an experienced consultant to keep an independent eye on the process. We are looking for someone with experience in converting from 6 to 7. After the conversion, the person will continue to act as an adviser to the agency on Remedy matters, will administer the system, and will be called upon to create reports. The work will take place in Roslyn, Virginia, across the Potomac from the Department's main building, in Government-leased space.
