Position Description:
BMC Software is currently seeking a Technical Instructor in the McLean Va.
area.
A BMC Software Technical Instructor teaches multiple courses and performs
instructional delivery of approved course materials.
The successful candidate will work within a team and also have strong
self-discipline and be able to work independently.
Must be willing to teach classes in BMC, partner, customer and contract
facilities, be able to present and articulate technical concepts confidently
to varying audiences and be flexible and willing to adjust to changing
assignments.
A Technical Instructor rapidly assimilates information when preparing to
teach new courses and takes initiative in handling classroom situations by
demonstrating flexibility for optimum customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate also:
Clearly communicates in oral and in written communication; listens, responds
and keeps others informed about new technology, products, issues, and
processes.
Works collaboratively with instructional design team that contributes to
course development.
Works collaboratively with Education Service Desk and Sales Representatives
as requested to ensure customer satisfaction; interview customers, and
recommend proper courses.
Shows understanding of current business issues relevant to the broad
organization and business.
Keeps informed regarding industry practices and developments.
Manages costs when on travel assignments.
Participates in the training and preparation process for new or less
experienced instructors.
Position Requirements:
This position requires the following minimum qualifications:
Strong technical and troubleshooting skills in at least one software
application or technology.
Previous experience working for a training organization, software vendor,
consulting firm or system integrator is also desired.
Qualified candidate must have excellent oral presentation and customer
interaction skills.
Minimum of two years of applicable experience within a professional services
or software industry organization.
Experience with BMC Remedy AR System and ITSM 7x is strongly desired
Special Consideration:
Must be willing to travel up to 75%.
Must have current passport and be able to travel to other countries and
regions without restriction.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills
Experience with development of custom training materials
Maintain acceptable level of customer satisfaction from customer evaluations
BMC Remedy AR/ITSM experience helpful
